Omnix360 vs. Your LMS (Canvas, Google Classroom, Schoology): Do You Need Both?

An LMS runs assignments, grading and communication. Omnix360 diagnoses the misconception behind wrong answers and verifies the reteach. How they differ...

Short answer: They do different jobs. An LMS such as Canvas, Google Classroom, or Schoology delivers and manages instruction: assignments, grading, content, and communication. Omnix360 diagnoses why students got answers wrong, gives the teacher a reteach plan to approve, and verifies whether it worked. Omnix360 includes a built-in LMS today and is designed to sit beside your LMS when LTI 1.3 ships; you don't switch. If you have no LMS, Omnix360 includes a built-in one.

What does an LMS do, and what doesn't it do?

An LMS is where teaching is organized and delivered. It's built for:

    • Posting assignments and content
    • Collecting work and grading it
    • Communicating with students and families
    • Organizing classes and rosters

What an LMS gradebook reports is a score. It tells you a student got 62% on fractions; it doesn't tell you whether they add denominators or can't find a common denominator, which need opposite reteaching. LMS features change often. Omnix360 vs. Canvas

Canvas is a full-featured LMS used widely across K-12 and higher education, with deep assignment, grading, and integration capabilities. Choose Canvas for course delivery and grading at institutional scale. Add Omnix360 when teachers need to know which misconception each student has and whether reteaching closed it. LTI 1.3 for Canvas is on the roadmap (Next), not available in the current product. See integrations.

    Omnix360 vs. Google Classroom

Google Classroom is simple, widely adopted, and included with Google Workspace for Education. Keep Classroom for daily assignment flow; it's already your teachers' habit. Add Omnix360 for pacing alignment and misconception diagnosis across classes. For many schools this is the lowest-friction combination: teachers keep the tool they know.

    Omnix360 vs. Schoology

Schoology combines LMS functions with family visibility in one K-12 hub. Keep Schoology as the hub. Add Omnix360 when you need evidence that remediation worked, not just a posted grade.

Omnix360 vs. tutoring management software (TutorBird, TutorCruncher)

Tutoring management software runs scheduling, billing, and session records. Omnix360 doesn't do any of those. It diagnoses learning gaps across tutors and verifies reteaching. Use both: management software for operations, Omnix360 for instructional quality.

When do you NOT need Omnix360?

Be honest about fit. You probably don't need it if:

    • Your teachers already diagnose misconceptions systematically and verify reteaching within a week, at the scale you run
    • Your main problem is scheduling, billing, or content delivery, not diagnosis
    • Your curriculum and tools are chosen centrally and the campus can't add software. Check with whoever approves academic technology first.

Do teachers have to learn another platform?

Teachers keep their current assignment and grading workflow. Today that can be Omnix360's built-in LMS; when LTI 1.3 ships, they can keep Canvas, Google Classroom, or Schoology for delivery. Omnix360 surfaces diagnoses and reteach recommendations for the teacher to approve. Onboarding is one session per teacher team. There's nothing to roll out to students, because students never interact with the AI.

Where Omnix360 fits - and where it doesn't

Where it fits: On its own built-in LMS today. LTI 1.3 and OneRoster for existing LMS platforms are on the roadmap; see integrations. Grades supported: grades 3–8.

Where it doesn't: It doesn't replace your LMS, gradebook, report cards, or tutoring operations software. It's proven live at one school so far (GrowWise School, Dublin, CA: 50 students, 4 teachers).

    Scope a pacing pilot

About Omnix360: Omnix360 is teacher-facing instructional infrastructure built by GrowWise. It reads students' wrong answers, names the misconception behind them, gives the teacher a reteach plan to approve, and shows whether the reteach worked. The AI never interacts with students. It runs on its own built-in LMS today. LTI 1.3 tool launches for connecting beside an existing LMS are on the roadmap; see integrations.
