    Australia Privacy Supplement

    Last updated: August 22, 2026

    Overview

This supplement applies to Omnix360 activity connected with Australia. It supplements the General Privacy Policy and Schools & Institutions Privacy Notice.

Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs)

The federal Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and its 13 Australian Privacy Principles set standards for collection, use, disclosure, access, correction, security, and cross-border disclosure of personal information for APP entities.

Who the federal Privacy Act covers (school context)

Per the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC):

    EntityTypical coverage
Organisations with annual turnover more than AUD $3 millionGenerally covered
Private schoolsOften covered (including in some cases as health service providers even at lower turnover)
Public schoolsGenerally not covered by the federal Privacy Act, they sit under state or territory privacy laws

Implication: Saying only “Privacy Act 1988 compliant” is not accurate for every Australian school customer. Government school deployments must also respect applicable state/territory privacy frameworks.

    Roles

When an Australian school deploys Omnix360, the school (or education authority) is typically the administrator/controller of student data, and GrowWise processes data to provide the Services. Privacy requests from parents and students should usually go to the school first.

    Cross-border disclosure (APP 8)

Omnix360 primarily hosts data in United States cloud regions and may engage overseas subprocessors. We take steps to ensure overseas recipients handle personal information consistently with the APPs, as described in the General Privacy Policy and Subprocessor List.

    Children’s privacy

Today, capacity to consent is assessed carefully and parental involvement is expected for school minors. Australia’s binding Children’s Online Privacy Code must be registered by the OAIC by 10 December 2026 for online services likely to be accessed by children. We will update this supplement when the Code is registered. See also the Children & Minors Notice.
